The first offshore wind farm in France will not be that of Saint-Nazaire, Courseulles-sur-Mer or even Fécamp awarded in 2012, but will be installed in the Basque Country, for the G7 summit to be held in Biarritz, from August 24th to 26th.

The strategy of the French State is to get this floating wind farm project up in record time. “Since this wind farm is to serve during the G7 only, the administrative file was able to through without any authorization procedures” says a renewable energy specialist.
